Amazon Prime issues apology to Arne Slot and Liverpool

Amazon Prime has send an apology to Arne Slot as Liverpool controversy at St. James Park explained

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool FC and their head coach Arne Slot have, reportedly, received an apology from Amazon Prime after the broadcaster claimed that the Dutchman entered the referee’s dressing room at half-time of the 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

The Reds were trailing 1-0 at the break during that clash at St. James’ Park. Liverpool thought they had won the match late in the second half after Mohamed Salah’s second goal of the night, however, an injury-time error from Kelleher saw the match ending 3-3. Following the game, it was claimed that Slot had held a conversation with referee Andy Madley in his dressing room – which was not the case.

Presenter Dan Walker said: “Before the game, he (Madley) said if you want to come and see me at any point, you can. He didn’t specify, here it is, you can see this (the footage) here, he didn’t specify that that was at half-time or full-time.

“We do know that Arne Slot went to see him at the break – after 45 minutes – and obviously Eddie Howe wasn’t best-pleased about that. I’m sure there’s going to be more said and more written and more spoken about that in the future.”

However, the ECHO understands that Slot didn’t directly approach Madley – or even enter the referee’s changing room at any time during the half-time interval. Instead, they are believed to exchanged words in the tunnel when walking next to each other and nothing untoward was said during their brief conversation.

Amazon’s claim is thought to have stemmed from a misunderstanding. The Times now reports that the broadcaster has made contact with both Slot and Liverpool to offer an apology for the suggestion.

All parties are thought to have accepted that. The club now believes the matter to be closed.
