Bayern Munich not interested in signing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford
Rashford’s future at United has become increasingly uncertain after expressing a desire for a "new challenge"
Bayern Munich are not believed to be pursuing a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
Rashford’s future at United has become increasingly uncertain after expressing a desire for a “new challenge.”
This came after being dropped from two matchday squads by new head coach Ruben Amorim, despite Amorim’s repeated insistence that he does not want to sell the 27-year-old.
However, it is reported that United would be open to selling Rashford for £40million, knowing that his hefty wages -reportedly over £300,000 per week – would significantly limit any serious interest in his services.
Recent reports in Spain linked Bayern Munich as potential suitors, given their financial capability to afford such a transfer.
However, German journalist Christian Falk has downplayed this speculation, stating that the move is “too expensive” for the Bundesliga club.
Bayern, already well-stocked in attack with Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, and Serge Gnabry, would not commit to the fee required for a player who would not be a guaranteed starter.
The club is in search of a backup striker to provide cover for Kane but has no plans to spend anywhere near the amount needed to bring Rashford to Germany.
As expected, clubs from Saudi Arabia are thought to be interested in Rashford, while the England international’s ideal move is reportedly a transfer to Spain’s La Liga.
