Exclusive: Aston Villa and Bournemouth make Abdul Fatawu enquiry
Brentford and Fulham are currently the frontrunners for the Leicester City winger
Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Fulham, and Brentford have enquired about Abdul Fatawu ahead of the summer transfer window, Binge Football can exclusively reveal through chief editor Patrick McAshietey-Zigah.
Brentford and Fulham are currently the frontrunners for the Leicester City winger, although Fatawu is settled in the Midlands. Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa could also appeal to the player.
Binge Football understands that if Leicester are relegated from the Championship to League One, Fatawu’s price tag would likely drop.
Despite enjoying his best season yet in terms of goal involvement, the club’s current crisis could see his valuation fall. Leicester are believed to value the winger at a maximum of around £5m.
Bournemouth, Fulham and Aston Villa have all scouted the player this season, while Brentford have been monitoring him since last year.
The Ghanaian was previously linked with a move to Liverpool before joining Sporting CP, where he made just 12 appearances before moving to Leicester on loan.
Fatawu impressed during his loan spell at the King Power Stadium, helping Leicester win the EFL Championship title and secure promotion to the Premier League.
He made 43 appearances in all competitions during that campaign, scoring seven goals – including his first career hat-trick in a 5–0 win over Southampton. His performances quickly made him a fan favourite among the Foxes.
Leicester subsequently signed him permanently from Sporting for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2024, handing him a five-year contract.
However, Fatawu missed the remainder of the 2024–25 season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while on international duty with the Ghana national football team.
This season, the 22-year-old has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Leicester City, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.
Fatawu is not believed to have a buyout clause in his contract, although Leicester would be willing to listen to offers if the player pushes for a move.
He has also been named in Ghana’s 26-man squad for this month’s international friendlies against Austria and Germany as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on March 30.
