Bukayo Saka remains a doubt for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest as he races against time to regain fitness.
However, there is encouraging news regarding his teammate Leandro Trossard, both on and off the pitch.
Saka, a key figure for the Gunners, was substituted late in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea prior to the international break.
His injury also led to his withdrawal from the England squad, where he joined teammate Declan Rice in pulling out of national team duties.
After the match at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta struck a cautious tone regarding Saka’s condition, raising concerns among fans.
“It doesn’t look good, because for two players of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game [versus Chelsea], obviously it’s not good news,” he said.
Mikel Arteta, meanwhile is hopeful that both can feature in Arsenal’s upcoming match against Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners are eager to get their Premier League campaign back on track, and having these players available would provide a significant boost.
Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard’s injury has raised some concerns after he was forced off in the first half of Belgium’s 2-1 victory over Israel on Sunday.
The forward is believed to have suffered “severe bruising” during the match in Budapest, but Arsenal are optimistic that he will be fit for this weekend’s fixture.
Initially, there were fears that Trossard had joined the list of injured players, following in the footsteps of Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard, who also sustained injuries during international duty. Fortunately, those concerns have now been alleviated.
