Liverpool and Arsenal to battle for £50m Premier League star
Brentford forward has been linked with a move to Liverpool
Liverpool are already exploring potential new signings ahead of the January transfer window, but the Reds will have to wait over two months to make any additions to their squad for the second half of the season.
In the summer, Liverpool signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus for £12.5million.
However, the Italy international has made only three appearances for the Reds due to ongoing fitness issues.
Additionally, goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was brought in before the summer transfer window closed but is currently on loan at Valencia.
He is expected to officially join Anfield next summer.
Reports suggest that Liverpool are interested in Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, with talkSPORT indicating that the Reds are set to compete with Arsenal and Newcastle for the Bees star as they look ahead to 2025.
Brentford have set an asking price of £50million for Mbeumo, anticipating interest from clubs like Liverpool.
The Reds are considering Mbeumo as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is set to be out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season.
Additionally, Liverpool is once again linked with a move for Benfica midfielder Orkun Kokcu.
According to Portuguese news outlet Record, Liverpool scouts have been regularly watching Kokcu in action in preparation for a possible transfer.
It has been reported that Liverpool representatives are “gathering information” about Kokcu, aiming to potentially secure the playmaker’s signature either in January or next summer.
The Turkey international has previously worked with Reds head coach Arne Slot during their time together at Feyenoord.
Recent reports have suggested that Orkun Kokcu has a €150million (£125million) release clause in his contract with Benfica.
However, there are also claims that the Portuguese club values him at €80million (£66.5million).
