Liverpool defender Amara Nallo set to join HJK Helsinki on season-long loan

Liverpool believe regular senior football will aid Nallo's development after a difficult start to his first-team career

Liverpool youngster Amara Nallo is set to join Finnish champions HJK Helsinki on a season-long loan, according to The Athletic.

The 19-year-old centre-back was left out of Andoni Iraola’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour of the United States as he finalised the temporary move.

Liverpool believe regular senior football will aid Nallo’s development after a difficult start to his first-team career, which included red cards on his debuts against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

Since then, Amara Nallo has primarily featured for the club’s Under-21 side. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has passed his medical ahead of a season-long loan move to Austrian Bundesliga side TSV Hartberg.

The Hungarian joined Liverpool from Puskas Akademia last summer and was named on the first-team bench five times during the 2025-26 season.

Elsewhere, Liverpool Under-21 midfielder Kyle Kelly has completed a loan move to National League club Forest Green Rovers until January.

The 20-year-old completed the temporary move after the two clubs reached an agreement. Kelly, who joined Liverpool in September 2020, has been a regular for the Reds’ Under-21s in recent seasons.

The midfielder is also a full St. Kitts and Nevis international, having earned eight senior caps and scored one goal for his country.
