Liverpool have submitted an offer of €80million (£69million) plus add-ons for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
According to Sky Sports News, the total package could rise to around €90 million (£78million), although discussions over the structure of the add-ons are still ongoing.
The offer comes after 48 hours of negotiations following Liverpool’s interest being made public earlier this week.
Ekitike is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool his preferred destination, especially after Newcastle had an earlier offer rejected. Eintracht Frankfurt have yet to respond to Liverpool’s latest proposal.
Talks remain ongoing, with negotiations described as positive and progressive so far.
Ekitike is poised to sign a six-year contract with Liverpool, which would keep him at the club until 2031.
This deal would mark Liverpool’s second-largest signing of the summer.
