Manchester United ready to use Marcus Rashford in swap deal bid for Victor Osimhen

Manchester United are reportedly considering using Marcus Rashford as part of a deal to secure Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Rashford has seen limited involvement under Ruben Amorim, having been excluded from three of United’s last four matchday squads.

This comes after the England international expressed a desire for a “new challenge” during a recent interview.

According to The Sun, United – constrained by financial limitations following a costly summer transfer window – are exploring a swap deal to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is eager to leave Napoli permanently.

The Nigerian striker has a £62million ($76.8m) release clause, but United hope to reduce the fee by including Rashford in the deal.

Talks between the two clubs reportedly began in the summer, with Scott McTominay thriving in Serie A after his move from Manchester.

The Red Devils are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, as Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to lead the line effectively.

Osimhen is one of several forwards linked to United, alongside Viktor Gyökeres, who worked with Amorim during their time at Sporting CP.

However, the club’s current financial constraints are proving to be a significant hurdle.

United have until the end of the January transfer window to decide on Rashford’s future and potentially finalize a deal for Victor Osimhen.

For now, Amorim’s immediate focus will be on improving United’s form, starting with Sunday’s challenging fixture against Premier League leaders Liverpool.
