Napoli Eye £9m move for Federico Chiesa amid Serie A interest

Napoli to make a move for Liverpool's Federico Chiesa while Genoa and Parma remain keen on the attacker

Napoli are preparing a £9 million bid for Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, according to Binge Football sources, as the Italian international looks set for a return to Serie A after a frustrating season at Anfield.

The 27-year-old endured a difficult campaign, hampered by injuries, fitness struggles, and stiff competition from Luis Díaz and Cody Gakpo, who contributed a combined 35 goals and 15 assists across all competitions.

Chiesa featured just 14 times for Liverpool in the 2024/25 season, with only six appearances in the Premier League. He has played a combined five times in the EFL and FA Cups, with both of his goals coming in domestic cup competitions, and registered two assists.

Sami Hyypia backs Liverpool to sign centre-back before transfer deadline

He last featured in the Reds’ 5-0 mauling of Stoke City in their preseason friendly before departing for the tour of the Far East. He scored in that game at the AXA Training Centre.

His limited involvement was largely due to a muscle injury sustained in late September, which sidelined him for over two months until mid-December, costing an extended run in the team that won the Premier League last season..

This injury followed a string of setbacks in previous seasons, including knee problems and recurring muscular issues, which have raised concerns about his long-term fitness

Chiesa was also left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Hong Kong and Japan, with Arne Slot citing a minor injury requiring rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre.

Napoli are not alone in their interest. Genoa and Parma are also monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation and could make formal offers in the coming days.
