Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool on a five-year contract.
Following this development, the Premier League champions are preparing to make their opening offer to the Magpies for the Sweden international.
The Reds have already invested nearly £300million ($403million) this summer on new signings, including French forward Hugo Ekitike.
According to Sky Sports Switzerland, Liverpool will submit their first formal bid for Isak after receiving his approval.
The club are ready to offer a five-year deal to the Swedish forward.
Liverpool plan to make an initial offer of £100million ($134million).
While Newcastle currently value Isak at around £150million ($203million), Liverpool are confident they can negotiate the price down to approximately £120 million ($160million).
The Reds have the financial capability to sign another top striker following their blockbuster deal for Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Their financial flexibility was further boosted by the recent sale of Luis Diaz to German champions Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez could also be on the move after attracting strong interest from Italian champions Napoli as well as several Saudi Pro League clubs.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad has traveled to Japan for their pre-season tour, where they are scheduled to face Yokohama F. Marinos in a friendly match on Wednesday.
