Liverpool today wrap up their pre-season tour of Asia with a friendly match against Yokohama F. Marinos.
The Reds have been in the Far East for over a week.
On Saturday, they faced AC Milan in a friendly at Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong, suffering a 4-2 defeat.
Arne Slot said after the game: “I saw a few good things but I think we also have to improve in certain areas.
“We got counter-attacked too much today, but that probably also has to do with the fact that we missed out on seven senior players and we wanted to give 20 players playing time.
“As a result of that, too many players didn’t play in their own position. But we still were able to play our normal game, but we were a bit too open once in a while on the counter-attack.
Slot’s side arrived in Japan on Sunday to begin the second leg of their summer tour as they prepare for the J.League World Challenge clash.
Yokohama F. Marinos have struggled domestically this season and currently sit in the J1 League relegation zone, three points from safety.
Their primary focus remains on survival, although a meeting with Liverpool offers a welcome distraction.
However, the Japanese side has found recent form, recording back-to-back wins over rivals Yokohama FC and Nagoya without conceding a goal.
