Liverpool target Yan Diomande hints he would be open to move to Premier League

Liverpool have informed Leipzig of their willingness to bid up to £86million for the 19-year-old.

Liverpool transfer target Yan Diomande has hinted he would be open to a move to the Premier League this summer, with the RB Leipzig winger revealing his agents are handling discussions while he focuses on the World Cup with Ivory Coast.

Liverpool have informed Leipzig of their willingness to bid up to £86million for the 19-year-old.

However, the Bundesliga club are reportedly holding out for closer to £112m and remain keen to tie the youngster down to a new contract.

Ivory Coast suffered a 2-1 defeat to Germany in Toronto on Saturday night, with Denis Undav scoring twice after Franck Kessie had given the Africans an early lead.

Diomande, who was replaced by former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe in the second half, told beIN Sports earlier this week that his future is likely to be resolved after the World Cup.

“Would I be open to the Premier League? I don’t know,” Yan Diomande said. “I am an RB Leipzig player, but why not? My agents will sort that out.

“As for me I am more focused on the World Cup, that’s the most important thing. It doesn’t happen all the time, it’s only every four years, so I am making the most of it and for the rest, we’ll see.”

Speaking earlier this week, Ivory Coast boss Emerse Fae played down speculation surrounding Diomande, joking: “When we were in France, during the preparation, journalists told me he was about to sign with PSG.

“Here (in the United States), they tell me he’s about to sign with Liverpool!

“I don’t know, but for now, he will focus on the World Cup, and then afterwards, he can think about the rest of his career.”

Diomande is set to feature again when Ivory Coast conclude their World Cup group-stage campaign against Curacao on Thursday.
