Marc Guehi focused on Crystal Palace after Liverpool move collapses
Guehi’s long-term future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain

Marc Guehi insists his full focus remains on Crystal Palace despite his collapsed move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
The England international had agreed terms on a £35million switch to the Premier League champions last month.
However, the deal fell through after Palace were unable to secure an adequate replacement, leaving Guehi’s dream transfer in limbo.
Despite the disappointment, the 25-year-old has maintained his impressive form for the Eagles.
He played a key role as Palace defeated Liverpool on penalties in the Community Shield and followed that up with a 2-1 Premier League victory over the Reds on Saturday, extending their club-record unbeaten run in all competitions to 18 matches.
Guehi’s long-term future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain.
His current contract expires at the end of the season, and he is not expected to sign an extension.
Liverpool are still monitoring his situation, although their stance after deadline day was that they would not revisit the deal in the January transfer window.
Whether that changes in light of the devastating injury suffered by Giovanni Leoni is yet to be seen.
Ahead of Palace’s Europa Conference League clash with Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday, Guehi was asked in his pre-match press conference about the collapsed move to Anfield.
“I don’t have much to say, to be honest,” he said. “I’m focused on playing football and playing for this club.
“But to the fans (I want to say) thank you very much for your support. I definitely feel it.”
Guehi added: “It’s something I don’t think of at all. My only focus is on the club, I’m not too worried about any personal accolades. As long as the team is where it needs to be I’m happy.
“When you’ve tasted success you’re definitely not satisfied and do want more. Everyone at the club strives for more.
“We’ve seen what we can do. If we keep our heads down, hopefully we can have many more opportunities.”
