Ruben Amorim confirms plans to block Manchester United players from taking extended holidays

Ruben Amorim has revealed plans to prevent Manchester United players from taking extended holidays during international breaks.
Recently, Marcus Rashford and Casemiro travelled to the USA for a brief getaway after being omitted from their respective national team squads.
While Amorim refrained from criticising the duo, he expressed his intent to impose stricter rules on unnecessary breaks during the season.
The new United boss admitted he had no authority to intervene in Rashford and Casemiro’s travel decisions, but he plans to review this policy as he fully settles into his role at the club.
At a press conference, Amorim said of these holidays, “Would I set a different structure?
“Yes, for sure. But we cannot put this on the players.
“They told them they have five days off so they can fly anywhere.
“Because nobody in the club says you cannot fly. So we cannot, this time, put that on Rash or Case.
“Us as a club have to set the standards and have to manage that.
“It’s my decision if they can have five days, or three days, or three days to rest and you cannot fly.
“This is something that us as a club have to decide.
“So this must be started in the club, with us and me being responsible in that area.”
While Ruben Amorim focuses on making off-field changes, Sunday marks his first chance to prove his impact on the pitch. Manchester United will face Ipswich in their first game under the Portuguese manager.
