Harvey Elliott is attracting growing interest ahead of a potential summer transfer, with West Ham reportedly “optimistic” about securing a deal as they pursue two Liverpool players.
Elliott is yet to return to pre-season training following his success with England at the U21 Euros.
There are doubts about whether he will feature again for Liverpool this season, especially after the midfielder hinted he is considering his future due to a limited role under Arne Slot in his debut campaign. Several clubs across Europe have registered their interest in the 21-year-old.
Brighton and RB Leipzig are among the sides evaluating a move, while The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg has recently reported on West Ham’s pursuit.
Although West Ham has “yet to submit a bid,” there is “optimism” within the club that a deal can be agreed, with “preparations for a move” already underway.
West Ham have funds available to facilitate a transfer, notably following Mohammed Kudus’ £55million move to Tottenham last week, and Elliott is seen as a potential replacement.
He is not the only Liverpool player linked with a move to the London Stadium; West Ham are also “considering” midfielder Tyler Morton.
Like Elliott, Morton is currently on a break after the U21 Euros, but his chances of leaving Liverpool appear more concrete.
The 22-year-old featured sparingly last season, making just five first-team appearances and totaling 261 minutes on the pitch.
Clubs including SC Braga, Ajax, and Club Brugge have reportedly added Morton to their shortlist.
Last summer, Liverpool valued Morton at around £20million, while Elliott’s valuation is estimated upwards of £50million.
