Alisson Becker and Alexander Isak are expected to return to training ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Brentford on Sunday.
Alisson has not featured since March because of injury, while Isak missed last week’s trip to Aston Villa due to a minor fitness issue.
Head coach Arne Slot was asked about both players during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.
“Ali will train with us today, so that’s positive,” he replied.
“Alex trains for the first time with us today, parts of what we are going to do.
“So, to a certain extent both positive. That’s actually it.”
Slot added: “Football has evolved and changed. First of all, I hope someone asked me that at the start but I congratulate Arsenal on winning the league.
“Mikel and his staff did a tremendous job. Congrats. But they have been a different champion than last time. It’s the first time in 30 years that 40% of goals have come from set pieces.
“Luis Enrique said they are the best off the ball in our league, which I agree, I also think Europe. So football has evolved so we have to compete with Arsenal and City again with our brand of football.
“We have to know and understand football has changed. Villa scored two goals via set pieces [in Europa League final]. We take that into account, we have to play a style the fans like, but also we want to compete.”
