Current starter Robert Sanchez has come under scrutiny for a series of mistakes in high-profile matches this season.
Summer signing Filip Jorgensen has been used in Chelsea’s cup competitions but has yet to challenge Sanchez for a regular spot in manager Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Chelsea are actively seeking a new goalkeeper and have identified the 27-year-old Gregor Kobel as a potential target.
Reports suggest that club officials are not entirely satisfied with either Sanchez or Jorgensen’s performances.
However, it is worth noting that Maresca has consistently backed Sanchez publicly, despite the goalkeeper’s inconsistent form.
Ahead of Sunday’s match against Brentford, the Chelsea manager insisted that he has no intention of changing his goalkeeper.
“The idea is not to change,” Maresca said. “But also in that case, we have two keepers who are both good.
‘Until they maintain the same level, we are happy with that.”
The report highlights Chelsea’s sustained interest in winger Karim Adeyemi, who recently partnered with a new agent, Ali Barat – an individual reportedly well-connected to the Blues.
Although Chelsea considered Adeyemi during the summer transfer window, they ultimately chose to strengthen their wide options by signing Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho.
