Chelsea are edging closer to reaching an agreement with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho, following further discussions, according to Sky Sports.
Both permanent and loan options are still being considered.
Chelsea ideally need to offload some players, with Raheem Sterling among those being offered to various clubs.
Although Manchester United are open to the possibility of Sterling joining them, they are not actively pursuing this option.
Their primary focus remains on Sancho, and they do not need to find a replacement if he departs.
Juventus are not expected to pursue Sancho unless the conditions of a potential deal change significantly.
Manager Erik ten Hag, who has reportedly patched up his differences with Sancho over the summer, has emphasized that the England international will need to fight for his place at United.
“It was a choice to make, we have some issues,” Ten Hag said after leaving out the 24-year-old.
Despite several signings, including Joao Felix, who scored on his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday after making a permanent return to Chelsea, the club is looking to bolster its forward options further.
Jadon Sancho is among the players Chelsea is considering this week, as the club explores potential additions.
However, completing a deal for Sancho seems complex, involving multiple moving parts and the involvement of two rival big clubs.
Sancho’s return to England in 2021 was met with great anticipation following his impressive performances for Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
The former Manchester City talent scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 games for the German giants, which saw his market value peak at €130 million.
United paid €85 million to acquire Sancho, but he has struggled to replicate his Bundesliga form, contributing just 18 goals and assists in 82 games.
Despite a fresh start this season, Sancho finds himself low on the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag gave him only seven minutes off the bench against Manchester City in the Community Shield, where he missed a crucial penalty as United lost.
