Liverpool complete record signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United
He will wear the No.9 shirt for the Premier League champions

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, with the Sweden striker penning a long-term contract on deadline day after completing his medical.
He will wear the No.9 shirt for the Premier League champions.
Isak arrives at Anfield after a prolific spell at St. James’ Park, where he scored 62 goals in 109 appearances across all competitions following his 2022 move from Real Sociedad.
In the Premier League, he netted 54 times in 86 matches, including 23 goals last season to finish second only to Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot race.
The 25-year-old now links up with Salah as a teammate and has expressed his ambition to help Liverpool compete for more silverware.
Isak began his career at AIK in Sweden before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
A loan spell at Willem II showcased his talent, and he later moved to Real Sociedad in 2019, where he starred as the top scorer in their Copa del Rey triumph in 2019/20.
On the international stage, Isak has earned 52 caps for Sweden, scoring 16 goals.
Soon after finalising his move at the AXA Training Centre, the 25-year-old forward told Liverpoolfc.com: “I feel amazing.
“It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there.”
Isak added: “I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve. I’m a striker but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals but much more than that as well.
“I want to win everything. Yeah, [as simple as that].”
