Newcastle United open to Liverpool’s £130m deadline-day move for Alexander Isak
Liverpool had an initial £110m bid rejected nearly a month ago

Newcastle United are prepared to seriously consider selling Alexander Isak to Liverpool if they receive a £130m bid on deadline day.
According to Telegraph Sport, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), the club’s majority stakeholders, are open to cashing in on their star striker for the first time if the offer is deemed too good to refuse.
Liverpool had an initial £110m bid rejected nearly a month ago, but Newcastle are now waiting to see if the Reds will return with an improved offer.
While the Magpies had maintained all summer that Isak’s asking price was £150m, the willingness to negotiate at a lower figure signals a significant shift in stance.
Crucially, any potential deal is not expected to be dependent on Newcastle securing a replacement before the transfer window closes.
Newcastle’s recruitment team have ruled out moves for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa and Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with both clubs unwilling to sell.
The Magpies are exploring other options, but acknowledge that signing a quality striker this late in the window will be extremely challenging.
If Isak departs without a replacement arriving, manager Eddie Howe will be left with limited options in central attack.
Newcastle recently secured the club-record £69m signing of Nick Woltemade and are optimistic about his impact, but they remain eager to add further attacking reinforcements should their Swedish forward leave.
