Raheem Sterling has no plans to cut short his loan spell at Arsenal, even though the winger has struggled for regular minutes under Mikel Arteta.
Since joining on loan from Chelsea last summer, the 30-year-old has made just two Premier League starts, both of which came in October.
Sterling has primarily been relegated to the bench, with Arteta opting for Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and emerging talent Ethan Nwaneri in attacking roles.
Despite these setbacks, reports indicate Sterling is “fully focused on making an impact” in the second half of the season.
The winger remains committed to proving his value and contributing to the team.
Arteta has previously addressed Sterling’s situation, emphasizing that his limited game time is not due to “tactical reasons.”
The Arsenal manager has expressed confidence that Sterling can still play a significant role in the campaign’s latter stages.
“There’s been moments,” Arteta said earlier this month when asked about Sterling’s situation.
“It’s been tough and very difficult for me as well to accept that I haven’t given him more.
“When he hasn’t started the games, 90 per cent of the subs that I make is related to saving minutes or because of injuries or avoiding injuries.
“It’s not tactical reasons. I would like him to play much more as I think he can impact the team in a very good way. He’s very good in the dressing room and is absolutely desperate to play.
“He had this very important role, impacting every game, and suddenly you are in this position for a while.
“Not just here but at Chelsea as well. So it’s always very difficult and I feel a lot of sympathy for players when they are in this moment. Hopefully we can change it.”
